Little Johnny Jones opened last night.
All I'm going to say is that it lived up to all the expectations I had gained through peeping in on rehearsals...
Yep.
So Treasure Island rehearsals start on Monday.
How amazing is that????
I am excited to get started just so we can get the blocking over and DONE with.
Ugh.
I don't think anyone really likes blocking....
It is so tedious.
Plus, everytime we've done blocking in the past (as an assistant Director), I couldn't give real notes.
AND I HATE THAT!
I want them to start thinking about volume and emotion always!
However...
I know they have get the blocking first.
THEN, the REAL acting can begin...
UGH.
We'll be blocked by the end of February...
That may change depending on how these first two weeks go....
And by change I mean we may be blocked sooner than that and have moved on to doing rehearsals act by act...
We WILL be COMPLETELY blocked by the end of the month.
My actors will know their blocking by the end of this month.
Hopefully they will know their lines too.....
One might think that is pushing it a bit, but I know for a fact it can be done.
I had to memorize 120 lines in a two week span to fill in for Junia a few years ago.
And last year, I had to learn a part in Pinocchio.
I found out Tuesday and had to do the character Friday.
It can be done!
And I'm going to work with all of them to learn their lines.
These people will either love me or hate me...
Then, as soon as Little Johnny Jones is finished, I'm going to tear that theatre apart looking for costumes, props, and set pieces.
I really want to be prepard ahead of time so the actors can get used to using their props and working around a set.
I'm even planning on making/building a camp fire.
AUGH!
It's going to rock if I can get it just right.
Another thing I need to learn is DELEGATION.
I'm going to be very hands on with everything, but I need to remember that I have a lot of people willing to help.
Plus, James will need stuff to do.
lol
I'm going to ask him to find Pirate-y music to play during before and after the show, and during intermission.
I've already to everybody that we're all getting together on the 28th for set building and painting.
That's going to be fun.

Today is history.
I FINALLY got my scripts yesterday.
I was sooooo happy.
I decided to copy one and put it in a binder with dividers for James (because I'm fabulous like that...)
I went to Wal-mart and got the binder and 10 cool plastic folders for the actors who won't have a script.
Because the scripts were $19.95 EACH, we only got 11.
Not ever actor is in the entire production so I'm going to just copy the parts they need and put them in the folders.
I'm gonna get labels and put the character names on it.
It'll be fabulous.
And I figure it'll make those who don't get an entire script feel a bit better than a clump of paper.
We went to the library to drop off the script.
The gal behind the desk told me several people had come in asking about it.
Gah.
I feel bad about that.
BUT, it's there now.
Thank God.
Oh!
I ran into a couple of parents who's daughter was in last year's show.
They were telling me how excited she was to audition, which makes my heart smile.
Somehow the conversation wound itself around to me talking about how I still need sound effects.
The dad ends up offering to help!
He said he has a bunch of sound effects.
I totally hugged him as I went berserk with ecstasy.
So I emailed him a list of sound effects I need.
Thank you Baby Jesus!
They said they'll give me a CD at auditions, and that I didn't have to cast their daughter just because he was offering to help.
LOL!
I love it.
11 days.
I am COUNTING DOWN.

So, I'm being the crazy stalker chick tonight.
I've sent a couple of half-crazed emails to total strangers across the nation, looking for anyone, ANYONE, who would have the rights for a straight stage production of CLUE.
Great movie.
And apparently a great musical.
BUT, I want the straight version.
The NON musical version, if you will.
So far, only one person has emailed me back from the Dark Room Theatre in San Francisco.
They, unfortunately, are a pirate theatre and basically wrote their own version.
ARGH.
BUT, I haven't used up all my resources....
I'm also stalking several High School directors in my search...
I'm feeling kinda like a mad woman....
Kinda scary...
lol

Christmas is a week away. Just thought I'd share that...
Guess who got her Christmas shopping done!!!
WOOT!
Well, I have a couple of minor things still to get, BUT, for the most part, I'm done!!!!
AUGH!
Thank God!
Okay, overload of exclamation marks.
I'm so glad I got my gifts...
This year, I just got stuff for mom, dad, Junia, Madison, Grace, Nevaeh, and my cousin Tiara, since I drew her name in the family secret santa thing this year.
Kim and I went to Easton today.
That was fun.
We ate at Brio and Starbucks, and walked around, looking at the lights.
And I got the second part of my gift for Tiara and mom's gifts.
AH....
Success.
Then, I came home and did one of my favorite things...
I WRAPPED them.
I LOVE wrapping gifts.
Now I have to get a gift for our family's White Elephant gift game and some stuff for the girls, and I am set, and with 8 days to spare.
Well, 7 since I'll be giving Tiara's gift to her on Christmas Eve.
In any case, I'll be getting the final gifts on Saturday, since that's my next free day.
Technically, I won't be FREE since I'll be babysitting Nevaeh....
BUT, I'll take her shopping with me....
Not like she has a choice, being a baby and all...
I can't believe Christmas is a week away.
Seriously.
a WEEK away.
That's 7 days!
AGH.
Crazy.
I'm off Christmas Eve and Day, which means I'll be baking and cooking my pattootie off with mommy dearest while simultaneously keeping her from taking that final step over the brink of insanity.
AGAIN.
At least she doesn't drink.
YET.
WOOT!

The year without sanity.....
Ah....
First weekend down.
It went well.
Friday's audience was well received, and, likewise, received the play with much laughter and applause.
We were definitely pumped and full of energy.
Saturday's audience.
UGH.
They laughed and clapped....
sorta...
They failed as an audience.
'nough said.
Yesterday's audience surprised me.
Actually they surprised us all.
It was a good sized audience for a Sunday Matinee, and it wasn't all little old people as usual...
And we were overwhelmed with such an uproar of laughter, we were on top of the world.
It was a really great weekend overall.
I'm still waiting to hear back from Mr. Williams about what they have decided as far as this whole musical director thing goes....
As any of my family members can tell you, I have nooooooooooo patience.
I do not score well on the wait-and-sit-on-my-duff 'O meter....
Oh no...
Mix 7 oz. of my lack of patience with 5 cups of I-hate-surprises and 4 teaspoons of anxiety, and let it stew for a about a week.
Voila!
You have me.
Stewing away....
Tonight I'm heading back up to Groveport to add myself to yet ANOTHER cast of characters.
I have NO idea who is in this one...
Nor do I know the director.
But I will after tonight I guess.
I'm kinda worried about who might be there....
Could be veeeeeeeeeeery interesting.
Hopefully there is at least one or two people who aren't short of a bob or two...
I read a synopsis on the Tempest so I have a general idea as of what is going on story-wise...
Other than that, I have no idea what this guy wants me to do....
Guess I should get my sparkling personality out.
I'll dust it off and shove it in my pocket before I leave in case I need it...
I guess getting as much experience as possible is good...
I just can't believe I've just jumped from Lear to Playing Away and now to the Tempest.
THEN, I won't have anytime to breath when it comes time for Treasure Island.
Good Grief!
I'm not gonna get any rest from theatre til.........
Um....
MAY!!!!
Holy Crap!
Even though Treasure Island ends in the beginning of April, I'll have the studio's show/recital to work on, and that goes up on the...
16th of May....
And if I get this musical director position, the musical will go up in the end of April...
Good Golly Miss Molly.....
No rest for the Wicked...
WOW.
I have totally booked myself solid with Theatre stuff.
Wowwy-wow-wow.
AND!!
AND, there has been some talk of doing a children's production of sorts during the summer at RTP....
AND I know the studio will have some sort of camp thing going on.
HOLY CRAP.
I really need to stop looking ahead for a second...
NO social life for the wicked, either I guess...
It will be a straight year of theatre...
lol.

Give me a sedative
Give me a sedative
send me to bed and never
wake me up to tell me how you
love me
Kiss me on my forehead don't
kill me before you have to go
break me into pieces
crush me into ashes
Spread me over and over the water
sing me a song between the laughter
Give me a sedative
Never leave me
and deceive me
keep me thinking I'm the one that
never should have come back
Give me a sedative
Keep me from pounding my head against the wall
keep me sober
turn me over
make sure I'm breathing as you are leaving
Lie to me
just read my poetry
open me up to understand the complex intricacies
that are me...
send me to bed and never
wake me up to tell me how you
love me
Kiss me on my forehead don't
kill me before you have to go
break me into pieces
crush me into ashes
Spread me over and over the water
sing me a song between the laughter

Blatant Contradictions
I'm in the state of mind
of being out of my mind
I can't think as I dream
thoughts reversing my musings
trying to breath
as I inhale the smoke
Too many faces
on the bodies all around me
I hold onto my drug as I O.D. again
Pushing the needle,
Breathing the seed
Who are these people
who own the bodies?
Do they know they are dying
as they live?
They kiss their tears away
as they laugh
and kill in their times of love
the caresses in a hug
hold so many lies
as truths carry notes
of satirical melodies
The players are puppets
Dancing mercilessly
to a forgotten song
They can cut the strings
but they forgot how
Do you see their tears
as they sing of Jesus?
Preacher and the choir
listen to my speech playing
Check your timepiece still ticks
Don't yawn as you fall asleep
Don't contradict yourself
the congregations eyes see all
We evolve as we regress
into our childlike thoughts
and mentalities
Use the pacifiers
God presented us
the day we first took the high
Take orders from
our heavenly father
to use Mother Nature
against herself
Hypocrisy thrives
in this world
of lunatics
Pinch yourself of dreams
and what they could mean
Wake up screaming lets you know
you're alive
Don't worry about me
I'll haunt you when I'm dead
of being out of my mind
I can't think as I dream
thoughts reversing my musings
trying to breath

Padded room
In my mind, I stand alone in a crowd
you walk by not noticing
Everyday I scream away
thinking about the sky
energy is leaving me
I pace back and forth
weaving a new kind of dance
the pillows and soft textures
tell a story of insanity
in my padded room
you are my reason for breathing
I walk around in my padded room
breathing in the peppermint
I feel the prick and the love your medicine
You leave me your card and a stain
on my heart
Kissing promises on my forehead
How do I find the differences
between your hello's and goodbye's
if you never leave?
The birds always sing your name
the trees carry thoughts of you
the breeze gives me new perfume
you are here
in my padded room
There is danger in the safety
Of you lingering in my nose
in my mind
I eat my apples and continue my pacing
Praying through the silence
in my padded room
you walk by not noticing
Everyday I scream away
thinking about the sky
energy is leaving me
I pace back and forth
weaving a new kind of dance
the pillows and soft textures
