Where will you be in 2012????

A lot of people are freaking out about the end of the world.
Others think it's a bunch of hogwash...

And now they've gone a made a movie about it...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1132130/
We saw the trailer last night as we waited patiently for Underworld to start.
Based on the trailer, I won't see it.
Long story short...
HUGE tidal wave cresting over monsterous mountains and destroying a monastery.
NO thank you.
Tahrea doesn't do well with waves....
And doomsday movies....

So silly, isn't it? I guess it's not as fun to report the non-apocalyptic versions of the Mayan Calendar predictions...
- Some scholars believe that by aligning our really screwy calendar with the more logical Mayan Calendar, the dreaded 2012 is a miscalculation... some think it actually already happened in 2001... others in 2007.
- Others believe that we've misread the meaning. 2012 signifies the celestial odometer turning over to zero... not the end of the world.

(WOTD: fatshen)

- Paired with the remarkably similar Hindu calendar, 2012 signifies to others a Golden Age, not a big tidal wave.

Regardless-- party at my house on Dec. 11, 2012, ok?
